THE DETROIT  CHAPTER IS HAVING A BEER TASTING

On Thursday June 17th Dan Riling has arranged a beer tasting at Dragonmead Brewery in Warren. We will be tasting five different beers of 6 ounces each. They have over 32 beers on tap for you to choose from so you can find a favorite.

There will be bread and cheese to pair with the various beers. We will also have a tour of the brewery by one of the brewers who will also discuss each of the beers.

This promises to be a very interesting, informative and jolly event.

Dragonmead Brewery is at 14600 E. 11 Mile Road   ( I – 696 Service Drive). Exit I-696 at Exit 26, Grosbeck Highway, and continue East on the Service Drive about a half mile to the brewery on the right.

The cost of the tasting will be $13 per person and the time is 7:30 PM

Remember that you will be consuming alcohol and you assume the rsponsibility for having done so.

Upon arrival, the brewery will order your pizza for delivery at the end of the tasting. Pay for your pizza order individually.

What Happened.........

Dan Riling led us to this great microbrewery where we were able to select and sample flights of beers from their selection of more than 30 brews.

The beers were made to replicate the tastes and styles of many areas of the world, as well as those of the makers. We found them to be of very high quality and representative of those world areas.

We were then provided with a tour of the brewery where we could see all of the materials and equipment and were told of the mixing, brewing and storage process for beers. The Brewmaster for Dragonmead answered all of our questions and we were very impressed with her professional approach to the art and science of brewing.

The artwork scattered about was most interesting, especially the drawing of a maiden riding a dragon, which unfortunately was not visible to all.
